On November 22, 2023, at approximately 2:31 p.m., 58-year-old Michael Alan King was riding an electric scooter in Birmingham, Alabama, when he was struck by a vehicle near the intersection of Richard Arrington Jr. Boulevard North and 28th Street North. Emergency responders transported King to UAB Hospital, where he remained under medical care. Despite treatment efforts, King succumbed to his injuries on December 23, 2023, at approximately 11:51 p.m.
