On May 31, 2022, 29-year-old Maurice Montrell Lewis was fatally shot in Birmingham, Alabama. The incident occurred just before 1:00 p.m. in the 1100 block of Center Street North. Officers responding to a call found Lewis lying in the front yard of a residence at 1116 Center Street North, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by Birmingham Fire and Rescue.
