On September 21, 2020, 86-year-old Garland Perry was fatally stabbed in her Birmingham, Alabama, residence. At approximately 8:43 a.m., officers from the West Precinct responded to a report of an assault at 1633 Brookfield Lane. Upon arrival, they were informed by Perry's daughter that her mother was severely injured inside the home. Officers entered and found Perry suffering from multiple stab wounds; she was pronounced deceased at the scene.
