On September 20, 2020, 66-year-old Fannie "Tiny" Stevenson Carter was fatally shot in Birmingham, Alabama. The incident occurred around 2:00 p.m. in the Elyton Village housing community. Officers from the North Precinct responded to reports of a 16-year-old male shot following an altercation. While on the scene, they heard multiple gunshots nearby and discovered Carter unresponsive in a field on 4th Court West, suffering from a gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
