On the evening of July 8, 2022, Kiara Holcombe, a 32-year-old woman, was fatally shot near her home in Birmingham, Alabama. As she was pulling out of her driveway in her car, a masked individual approached the vehicle and fired multiple shots inside. Birmingham police responded to the scene shortly after 6:00 p.m. and found Ms. Holcombe with several gunshot wounds; she was pronounced dead at the scene.
It was determined that after being shot, her vehicle continued for a short distance before stopping.
A lifelong resident of Birmingham, Kiara grew up just a block away from where her life was tragically taken. Those who knew her described her as a fun and loving person who was full of joy.
