On September 29, 2020, 68-year-old Susil Rupasinghe, a native of Puwakpitiya, Sri Lanka, passed away at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. Before his death, Rupasinghe owned and operated the Marathon Gas Station and convenience store located at 1084 Forestdale Boulevard in Forestdale, Alabama. His passing was the result of injuries sustained during an incident that occurred nearly a year earlier.
