In the early morning hours of May 28, 2019, the life of 18-year-old Malachi Thomas McCray, a Black male from Decatur, Alabama, was tragically cut short. The incident unfolded at the Northwood Apartments, where McCray was discovered with fatal gunshot wounds. Despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
