On November 27, 2022, 29-year-old Codey Ray Schepp was found fatally shot alongside 42-year-old Quinton Lamon Owens in an apartment at Wheeler Estates on McEntire Lane Southwest in Decatur, Alabama. The Decatur Police Department responded to a call about a deceased person at approximately 1:30 p.m., leading to the discovery of both victims. Morgan County Coroner Jeff Chunn pronounced them dead at the scene at 2:04 p.m., identifying gunshot wounds as the cause of death.
