On February 7, 2020, at approximately 3:30 p.m., Decatur Police Department officers responded to a shooting in the 300-block of Herring Road SW in Decatur, Alabama. Upon arrival, they discovered 22-year-old Ghaith Hameed Vest deceased at the scene.
The investigation led to the arrest of Martavius Cortez Lee, who was charged with murder and held at the Morgan County Jail on a $150,000 bond.
