On a Friday afternoon, February 7, 2020, the life of 22-year-old Ghaith Hameed Vest was tragically cut short. Born in Amman, Jordan, the young man was found deceased by Decatur Police Department officers who were responding to a shooting in the 300-block of Herring Road SW in Decatur, Alabama, at approximately 3:30 p.m. Ghaith, a resident of Hartselle, had sustained fatal gunshot wounds.
