On a Monday in late October 2023, the life of 56-year-old Terrance Heath Faulks, a male resident of Decatur, Alabama, was tragically cut short. In the early hours of October 30th, Decatur Police were dispatched to a residence on 6th Avenue SW following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, officers discovered Faulks with a gunshot wound. He was quickly transported to the Decatur Morgan Hospital for medical attention.
Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Terrance Heath Faulks succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital. The initial investigation into the shooting led detectives to identify a suspect in connection with the fatal incident. Later that same day, authorities took 58-year-old Tammy L. Welch into custody.
Following her arrest, Tammy L. Welch was charged with manslaughter in the death of Terrance Heath Faulks. She was subsequently booked into the Morgan County Jail, with her bond set at $30,000. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting is ongoing.
