On August 19, 2021, 54-year-old Mark Allen Nicholson was fatally shot at the Wavaho gas station on Wilson Street in Decatur, Alabama. While pumping gas, Nicholson was approached by an assailant who robbed and shot him, resulting in his death at the scene.
