On February 28, 2018, in Decatur, Alabama, 32-year-old David Alan Gullatte and his fiancée, 27-year-old Sharonda Bouldin, were found fatally shot inside their residence on Clearview Street. A concerned citizen reported hearing gunshots around 2:00 PM, prompting police to respond and discover the victims' bodies. A young child was also present in the home but was unharmed.
