On August 21, 2024, at approximately 5 p.m., Decatur Police Department officers responded to a shooting incident at the Blossom Wood Apartments on Beltline Road. Upon arrival, they discovered 37-year-old Donwaski L. Puryear with an apparent gunshot wound. He was transported to Huntsville Hospital for treatment.
