On July 7, 2018, 31-year-old Christopher Devon Preston was fatally shot at an apartment complex in Decatur, Alabama. Responding to a call at approximately 10:39 a.m., Decatur Police officers arrived at the 200-block of 8th Street SW, where they discovered Preston's body; he had suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.
