In the spring of 2024, the life of 23-year-old Jared Bolden was tragically cut short in Decatur, Alabama. On the afternoon of March 27th, at approximately 2:16 p.m., police responded to a report of a shooting in the 900 block of 10th Avenue. Upon their arrival, they discovered Bolden suffering from gunshot wounds. He was quickly transported to Decatur-Morgan Hospital, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation into the male victim's death led police to identify a
suspect, a 17-year-old male. However, in a turn of events, the teenage suspect was himself involved in a separate shooting incident on May 3, 2024. He was taken to Decatur-Morgan Hospital with a gunshot wound and later transferred to Huntsville Hospital, where he died from his injuries on May 5, 2024. No arrests were made in Bolden's case prior to the suspect's death, and the investigation remains ongoing.
Jared Nakuan Bolden, born on December 22, 2000, was remembered for his vibrant personality, witty sense of humor, and smooth dance moves that could light up a room. A 2019 graduate of East Lawrence High School, where he was a standout athlete in both basketball and football, he was employed at the Alabama Farmers Co-op at the time of his passing. He leaves behind his children, mother, siblings, and grandparents.
