In the early morning hours of November 1, 2022, a distressing scene unfolded in a Decatur, Alabama, home. Responding to what was initially reported as a burglary, police officers discovered the bodies of a Hispanic man, 40-year-old Uriel Cruz Mayo, and 34-year-old Lucia Guardo Mayo. Both individuals had been fatally shot in what was quickly determined to be a double homicide.
