A tragic series of events unfolded in Grayson Valley, Alabama, leading to the death of Michael James Moore, a 35-year-old male. On the late evening of August 22, 2019, a domestic dispute escalated into a violent robbery that claimed Moore's life and left his wife, Crystal Moore, wounded. The incident occurred in the 5400 block of Nottinghill Drive, where the couple was shot.
Responding Jefferson County sheriff's deputies discovered Michael James Moore unresponsive at the scene.
Both he and his wife were immediately transported to a local hospital for medical attention. Sadly, Michael James Moore succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. Crystal Moore, however, survived the shooting.
Following an investigation into the deadly shooting, law enforcement officials identified two suspects. Kendall Bernard Banks, who was 25 at the time, and 23-year-old Zackary Danner were arrested in connection with the crime. In February of 2020, a grand jury indicted both men on charges of capital murder for the death of Michael James Moore and attempted murder for the injuries sustained by his wife. Evidence gathered by investigators pointed to a domestic dispute that turned into a robbery as the motive behind the violent attack.
