In the early morning hours of August 7, 2024, a violent encounter in Grand Bay, Alabama, claimed the life of 41-year-old Horace Eugene Sellers III, a man known affectionately to friends and family as “Bubba”. Sellers was shot in the lower back while in a vehicle with his girlfriend, who was also wounded in the attack. The pair managed to drive to a nearby Chevron gas station on Highway 90 to seek help, but Sellers succumbed to his injuries.
