On March 24, 2019, Tavon Jonquel Peterson, a 29-year-old male, was fatally shot in his northeast Columbus home. The incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. on Balsam Lake Drive, near Stelzer and McCutcheon roads. Peterson was involved in a physical altercation with another resident before several shots were fired, leading to his death. When police and medics arrived at the scene, Peterson was pronounced dead from multiple gunshot wounds.
