Jerry Campbell III, a 21-year-old male, was fatally shot on October 30, 2022, in the South Linden neighborhood of Columbus, Ohio. The Columbus Division of Police identified Campbell as the victim after he was found shot inside a vehicle at the intersection of East 19th and Gladstone avenues. He was taken to Grant Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 8:13 p.m. A witness reported that a man fired shots into the vehicle and fled the scene on foot.

Hergins-Turns admitted to fatally shooting Campbell during an argument about the weight of marijuana being sold.
