On March 28, 2019, 40-year-old Randy DeWayne Young was fatally shot in the parking lot of a Cracker Barrel restaurant in Trussville, Alabama. The incident stemmed from a dispute over parking when 22-year-old Bryan Patrick Hancock blocked Young's vehicle with his truck. An argument ensued, during which Hancock used a racial slur, leading to Young punching Hancock. In response, Hancock shot Young in the head.
