On December 18, 2024, at approximately 12:55 p.m., officers from the Leeds Police Department responded to reports of a shooting at a mobile home in the 700 block of Morgan Street in Leeds, Alabama. Upon arrival, they discovered 25-year-old Luis Enrique Herrera-Valenciana deceased from a gunshot wound. A female victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, sustained life-threatening injuries to her torso and was transported to UAB Hospital, where she remains in critical condition.
