Sammy Stuart Blankenship, a 57-year-old construction worker from Bessemer, Alabama, was killed in a tragic hit-and-run incident on September 22, 2019, while working on the I-59/20 near Bessemer. Blankenship, an employee of Dunn Construction, was in a designated work zone when he was struck by a vehicle that breached the safety cones. According to reports, the driver, identified as Daniel J.
