On April 3, 2021, 31-year-old DeMario L. Kirkland was fatally shot in Bessemer, Alabama. The incident occurred in the 100 block of 10th Street South around 6:43 p.m. Kirkland was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries at approximately 8:00 p.m. The Bessemer Police Department initiated a homicide investigation, interviewing witnesses to determine the circumstances leading to the shooting.
