In the summer of 2019, the life of 15-year-old Ke’Marius Scott was tragically cut short in a burst of violence that unfolded on a street in the Brighton community, near Bessemer, Alabama. On the afternoon of August 1st, in the 1500 block of Smith Street, Scott was fatally wounded by a gunshot to his head and was pronounced dead at the scene.
