In the autumn of 2013, the life of Dearies D. Holland, a 26-year-old Black man from Nashville, Tennessee, was tragically cut short. On the evening of Sunday, November 24, a concerned citizen alerted police to a vehicle that had been left running in a parking lot located at 727 Bell Road. Responding officers made a grim discovery inside the car; Holland was deceased, having sustained a fatal gunshot wound.
