In a tragic turn of events stemming from a dispute over a small sum of money, 30-year-old Anthony Lee Buchanan Jr. was fatally shot in Nashville. The male victim was discovered in an alley on University Court with multiple gunshot wounds and succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Surveillance footage from the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency proved crucial in the ensuing investigation, capturing the shooting and showing two individuals fleeing into a nearby apartment.
This led detectives to quickly identify and locate two 14-year-old suspects, Tyrese Summers and Kimarion Henry. A search of the apartment where the teenagers were found resulted in the discovery of four handguns, along with quantities of marijuana and cocaine.
During interviews with law enforcement, both Summers and Henry admitted to their involvement in the shooting. The alleged motive for the homicide was a dispute over $300 that Buchanan had reportedly stolen from Summers. Following their confessions, the two teens were charged with criminal homicide and juvenile handgun possession and were set to face proceedings in juvenile court.
