In the late hours of a Monday evening in Nashville, Tennessee, the life of Christopher 'Chris' Goodale, a 43-year-old male, was tragically cut short. On September 5, 2022, Goodale was found in the parking lot of a Marathon Gas station on West Trinity Lane with a single gunshot wound to his chest. He succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
For over a year, the case remained unsolved, leaving a void in the lives of his family, including his daughter.
Described as a loving and protective father with a strength like a lion, he enjoyed fishing and spending precious time with her.
The investigation into his death was a lengthy and meticulous process. A breakthrough came in February 2024, when North Precinct officers arrested 42-year-old Jermaine Jenkins. An outstanding warrant charged him with the murder of Goodale. Authorities located Jenkins on Hampton Street, a place he was known to frequent, and took him into custody. He was subsequently jailed on a criminal homicide charge with a bond set at $500,000.
The investigation, led by Detective Ben Hughes, not only identified Jenkins as the suspected shooter but also implicated two others in connection with the getaway car. William Henderson III, 38, the owner of the vehicle, and Stephanie Raymer, 41, who was driving the car when it was recovered, were both charged with accessory after the fact and evidence tampering. Henderson was taken into custody, and Raymer, who was initially at large, was apprehended later. The motive for the fatal shooting is believed to have stemmed from a dispute between Jenkins and Goodale.
