On April 21, 1994, 13-year-old Terrence Murray, a black male student at John Trotwood Moore Middle School in Nashville, TN, was tragically shot and killed inside his classroom. Terrence was watching a video of "Beauty and the Beast" in music class when his classmate, 14-year-old Jeremy Bryant, decided to play with a small silver handgun he had brought to school. Bryant, who was also a student at the school, accidentally fired the gun, hitting Terrence in the back of the head.
