His death was the result of a violent incident that occurred during what police described as a "botched robbery" involving heroin. Matlock and Angel Pendred, 32, met two other individuals, Crystal Taylor, 22, and James Bratchie, 26, in a parking lot adjacent to the tennis courts at Shelby Park.
