In the autumn of 2023, a fatal shooting in Nashville claimed the life of 66-year-old Charles Smith. The incident, which police are investigating as a homicide, unfolded on a Thursday evening at approximately 7:55 p.m. outside of Resha's Market, located at 717 25th Avenue North. Smith was a familiar face in the neighborhood, often known to spend time and socialize with friends near the market.
