On September 24, at approximately 11:05 PM, Tsegaye Gebrehiwot, a 55-year-old male, was the victim of a violent assault during the course of a robbery. The incident took place in the 5100 block of 2nd Street NW, a residential area in the city. The initial attack left Mr.
Gebrehiwot with severe injuries that he would battle for nearly two months.
