In the late hours of a Friday night in Nashville, Tennessee, a brief and violent encounter tragically ended the life of 30-year-old Danny Dixon. On January 14, 2022, while sitting in his parked car outside the Stay Lodge on Antioch Pike, Dixon was approached by another man. Following a short exchange of words, the man opened fire, striking Dixon in the leg.
Despite his grave injury, Dixon managed to drive away from the scene, even returning fire with his own weapon as he fled.
He sought help at a nearby convenience market, from where authorities were alerted. The gunshot had struck an artery, and his injury proved to be fatal. The assailant, who had been a guest at the motel, escaped in a vehicle immediately after the shooting.
The investigation into the murder of Danny Henry Dixon Jr. led detectives to identify a suspect. Just days later, on January 18, 2022, Keion Jemison, 24, was taken into custody by the Metro Nashville Police Department's TITANS unit at an apartment complex on E. Webster Street. Jemison was subsequently charged with the murder of Danny Dixon, bringing a swift arrest in a case that cut a young man's life short.
