In the autumn of 2016, a violent encounter in Nashville led to the untimely death of Omar Dante Lindsey. On the fourth of November, police responded to what initially appeared to be a car crash in the South Nashville area. Upon their arrival at the scene, they discovered the driver, a 30-year-old male, was suffering from a fatal gunshot wound. The investigation into the shooting quickly pointed to a potential drug-related motive.
The incident that claimed Omar Dante Lindsey's life took
place at the Southwood Park Apartments on Glastonbury Road. As investigators delved deeper into the circumstances surrounding the homicide, a suspect was eventually identified. Kendre Shields was later indicted by a grand jury on charges of first-degree murder and especially aggravated robbery in connection with Lindsey's death.
Following his indictment, Kendre Shields was taken into custody and jailed in 2018 to await trial for his alleged involvement in the murder of Omar Dante Lindsey. The legal proceedings against Shields were still pending as of mid-2020, as he faced multiple serious offenses related to the fatal shooting.
