In the winter of 2012, just two weeks before he was to be married, 26-year-old Stephano Griffin was killed in Nashville, Tennessee. On the evening of January 27th, Griffin was returning to his fiancée's home on University Court when he was confronted by an armed man.
According to witnesses, an argument broke out between the two men before the assailant shot Griffin multiple times. After Griffin fell to the ground, the shooter stole his jacket and pants and fled the scene.
Authorities later recovered the clothing and confirmed that Griffin had also been robbed. He was rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center but ultimately succumbed to his injuries, leaving behind a six-year-old son.
Despite the passage of over a decade, the case remains unsolved. Metro Nashville Police believe there were dozens of witnesses to the shooting, but no one has come forward with information leading to an arrest. The investigation is now considered a cold case. Stephano Griffin's family continues to hold out hope for closure and justice, periodically making public appeals for anyone with information to contact the police. As of now, there are no named suspects in his murder.
