Vontrekus Lockett, age 28, was fatally shot on January 15, 2016, in a robbery at the Hampton Chase Apartments in Nashville, Tennessee. The incident occurred around 11:40 p.m. when Lockett and his friend were leaving the apartment and were confronted by the assailant. After being forced back inside, shots were fired, killing Lockett and injuring two others, including his girlfriend, who was shot in the leg. Three children were present in the apartment but were unharmed.
