In the early morning hours of August 11, 2010, the life of 14-year-old Ronquez Bigsby was tragically cut short in Nashville, Tennessee. The African-American male was in the James Cayce Housing Development on South 8th Street, walking toward Kirkpatrick Park, when he was approached by one or more individuals. An argument broke out, though the reason for the dispute remains unclear.
The confrontation escalated, and Ronquez was shot multiple times. He tried to flee but collapsed on South 8th Street. At approximately 1:45 a.m., Metro Police responded to a call of gunshots in the area and found Ronquez near a van parked by the side of the road. He was rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
The investigation into the murder of Ronquez Bigsby is ongoing. Authorities have appealed to the public for assistance, urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers. To date, no arrests have been made, and no suspects have been publicly identified in connection with the shooting. The case remains an open and active homicide investigation.
