On the night of July 15, 2017, 39-year-old African American male Marall Edwards was fatally shot during a home invasion at his apartment on Acklen Park Drive in Nashville, Tennessee. Responding officers found him lying in the doorway with the door ajar, suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
