On a spring evening in Nashville, Tennessee, the life of Terry Wayne Comer Jr. was tragically cut short. A 36-year-old Black / African American male, he was the victim of a fatal shooting on either May 6 or May 7, 2019. The incident unfolded in the 1800 block of Glade Street, where Comer was seated as a passenger in the back of a Dodge Charger.
Around 5:30 p.m., a maroon single-cab pickup truck, possibly a Ford, drove by the parked Charger.
Witnesses reported that multiple shots were fired from the truck into the vehicle where Comer was sitting. Responding officers found Comer alone in the car, having sustained a gunshot wound to his neck. He was quickly transported to Skyline Medical Center, but he did not survive his injuries.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing and is being handled by the North Precinct detectives of the Metro Nashville Police Department. At the time of the incident, the suspect vehicle, occupied by at least two individuals, fled the scene after the shooting. No arrests have been publicly announced in connection with the murder of Terry Wayne Comer Jr., and the case is now considered a cold case. Authorities have appealed to the public for any information regarding the maroon pickup truck or the individuals involved, encouraging witnesses to contact the Cold Case Homicide Unit or Nashville Crime Stoppers.
