In the fall of 2015, a fateful encounter in a Nashville housing development parking lot ended the life of 17-year-old Ian Patrick Patterson. The young man, a resident of Chapmansboro, was fatally shot on October 11, 2015, while standing outside his car in the James Cayce housing development. He was rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
