In the late evening of Sunday, August 4, 2019, Antonio Travis, a 56-year-old male, was fatally shot outside his home in the 1600 block of 16th Avenue North in Nashville, Tennessee. The incident, which authorities have described as an apparent targeted shooting, occurred at approximately 8:40 p.m.
According to witness accounts, Travis was walking towards his vehicle when a light-colored sedan approached. Several armed individuals exited the car and opened fire on him.
Travis was struck multiple times. Emergency services transported him to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
The assailants fled the scene in the sedan, and a motive for the shooting has not been publicly determined as the investigation remains ongoing.
