In the late summer of 2021, the life of a young Black/African American man, Malachi Fondren, was tragically cut short at the age of 21. On the morning of Saturday, August 28, 2021, Fondren was fatally shot at the Stewarts Ferry Apartments located on Stones River Cove in Nashville, Tennessee. The incident unfolded when Fondren was visiting a female acquaintance at the apartment complex.
