In the spring of 2015, a senseless act of violence cut short the life of Ricardo Johnson, a 29-year-old man from Nashville, Tennessee. On the evening of May 18th, Johnson was with his brother outside the Little Barn Market on Clarksville Highway when they were confronted by a man demanding money at gunpoint. The assailant fired shots as the brothers attempted to flee, and Ricardo Johnson succumbed to his injuries.
A male suspect, Robert Estleman, was later arrested in connection with the fatal shooting. The incident was characterized by police as an attempted robbery that escalated into a homicide.
Ricardo Johnson was a father and a cherished member of his community. He was survived by his son, his mother, and his father, as well as his siblings. Remembered as a great man, he dedicated his time to volunteering with The Edgehill Bike Club, a local nonprofit organization. In his honor, the club organized a giveaway of 25 bicycles to children in the neighborhood, a testament to the positive impact he had on those around him. The community mourned the loss of a man who was taken too soon, with funeral services held at the Greater Faith Baptist Church.
