In the late hours of December 23, 2023, a fatal encounter unfolded on Pennington Avenue in Nashville, Tennessee, that would end the life of 20-year-old Mac Lewis Page. Page, a young man with a passion for music, was discovered deceased on the morning of Christmas Eve behind the wheel of his silver Hyundai Santa Fe. The vehicle had come to a rest on the side of the road in the 2600 block of Pennington Avenue. Investigators believe the shooting occurred during the night outside an abandoned duplex and that Page had driven a short distance before succumbing to his injuries.

Page was remembered as a vibrant individual who loved music, animals, and the ocean, and cherished time with his friends and family. He had a giving spirit, a keen sense of humor, and a laugh that was infectious. For a decade, he was a member of the Vanderbilt University Blair Boys Choir and Young Men's Chorus, which afforded him the opportunity to perform with the Nashville Symphony Orchestra on several occasions.

The investigation into Page's death was swiftly undertaken by Homicide Unit detectives. Their efforts, in conjunction with Specialized Investigations Division detectives, led them to identify 19-year-old Jamerius Rhodes as a suspect. Evidence showed that Rhodes and Page had been in communication via text messages around the time of the fatal shooting.

On January 5, 2024, Jamerius Rhodes was taken into custody. During an interview with police, he admitted to shooting Page. Following his confession, Rhodes was charged with criminal homicide. A judicial commissioner ordered that he be held without bond as he awaits further legal proceedings.
