In the early hours of a Wednesday morning in March 2010, a burst of gunfire erupted at the intersection of Cobbs Creek Parkway and Walnut Street in West Philadelphia, leaving two men dead. One of the victims was 22-year-old Tyree Jackson from the 4500 block of Sansom Street.

Jackson was in a white Grand Marquis with 21-year-old Farrakhan Mickels when they were involved in a gun battle. Both men were struck by multiple bullets. It was reported that they had returned fire during the violent ...
