On September 2, 2012, Rhodphy Hakeem Rice III, a 32-year-old Philadelphia resident, was shot and killed while seated in his black Nissan Maxima outside his home on East Hortter Street. The shooting took place in the East Mt. Airy neighborhood, and Rice was pronounced dead at Albert Einstein Medical Center as a result of multiple gunshot wounds to his head and body.
