On June 27, 2016, George Cortez, a 36-year-old resident of Philadelphia, was found shot on the 2300 block of Cleveland Street. The incident occurred around 1:16 a.m. when Philadelphia Police Officers responded to reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers discovered George Cortez with multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to Temple University Hospital, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries that morning.
