On October 6, 2023, at approximately 2:47 a.m., Philadelphia Police officers responded to reports of a person with a gun on the 5700 block of Germantown Avenue in the Germantown section of Philadelphia. Upon arrival, they discovered 44-year-old Aaron Thomas lying in the street outside a white Dodge Charger, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Thomas was immediately transported to Jefferson-Einstein Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Investigators have determined that the suspect or suspects fled the scene in a gray Mercury Mountaineer. Despite recovering numerous pieces of ballistic evidence, authorities have not yet identified or apprehended any suspects in connection with Thomas's death. The Philadelphia Police Department continues to seek information from the public to aid in solving this case.
In an effort to encourage community assistance, the City of Philadelphia is offering a reward of up to $20,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for Aaron Thomas's murder. Individuals with information are urged to contact the Citizens Crime Commission at 215-546-TIPS. All calls will remain anonymous.
