In the East New York neighborhood of Brooklyn, a Monday morning was shattered by gunfire that ended the life of 40-year-old Edwin Guevarez Jr. The fatal encounter unfolded around 9:10 a.m. on March 30, 2026, near Wortman Avenue and Ashford Street, just steps from Guevarez's home and close to the Jerome Playground.
