Alfred Henry Bath, a 42-year-old white male, was serving as the Sheriff of Albany County, Wyoming when he was tragically killed on May 29, 1908. Born in New York in 1865, Bath had relocated to Wyoming, where he lived with his wife Dora Emilia Hagbery Bath and their children. On the day of his death, Sheriff Bath was pursuing a fugitive named George H. Sommers who had reportedly assaulted his employer in North Park, near the Wyoming-Colorado border, and fled with a stolen pistol.
